Italy Work Visa Required Documents

When you submit your Italy work permit application, you must submit a set of documents proving your identity and the purpose of your visit. Italian visa requirements can differ based on your visa type and the nature of your work.

Here's a summary of the documents required for an Italy Short-term Visa (Type C) for business purposes.

Valid Indian Passport

• Must be issued within the last 10 years 
• Should have a minimum of 3 months' validity after your intended stay.
• It should include a minimum of 2 blank pages.
• No handwritten passports or those with manual observations are accepted.

Italy Visa Application Form

• Completed with 2 signatures.
• Includes 2 photographs according to Italy work visa photo requirements.
• It should mention travel dates and duration of stay.
• Contact details should be yours, not the agent's.

Authorisation for Employment

• An undertaking letter from the employer confirming the applicant's return to India after the contract is required in this case.
• A copy of authorisation for dependent work or “Autorizzazione al lavoro subordinato”, issued by the “Ufficio Provinciale del Lavoro” (Labour Provincial Directorate). Should not be older than six months.
• The document must be authorised by the relevant “Questura” (Police Headquarters).
• Alternatively, provide the original and photocopy of “Autorizzazione al lavoro” issued by the “Ufficio Provinciale del Lavoro – Segreteria Collocamento Spettacolo” or "Ufficio Speciale Collocamento dello Spettacolo" in Palermo.
• Photocopies of observations or remarks on your passport.
• If the employment requires specialised skills, provide evidence or documentation of these skills.

Proof of Suitable Accommodation

• Contract for purchasing or renting an apartment.
• Declaration under articles 2 and 4 of Act 4.1.1968, no.15.
• A declaration from an Italian citizen or a foreign resident in Italy, confirming the provision of appropriate accommodation meeting regional standards.

Financial Status

• Original 3 months' salary account bank statement with bank stamp and signature.
• ITR acknowledgement from the last 3 assessment years or Form 16A.
• Last 3 months' salary slips (if employed).
• For proprietorship: Original company bank statement from the last 2 months and ITR from the last 3 years.

Passport Copies

• Photocopies of your Schengen visa issued in the past (if applicable).
• Photocopies of US and UK visas held (if applicable).
• One copy of the front page and one of the last page.

Italy Travel Health Insurance

• Coverage of at least EUR 30,000, including repatriation if visiting for a short-term work under 90 days
• Proof of sickness insurance throughout the duration of your work. You can get a suitable travel health insurance for Italy from India before moving as well.

Other Documents

• Return flight details or airline reservation printout.
• Nulla Osta (No-objection authorisation) from the relevant Questura (Police Headquarters).
• Photocopies of Observation or remarks noted in the passport.
• If travelling to other Schengen countries, include tickets and bookings for train or car rentals.

How to Apply for an Italy Work Visa?

Here are the steps explaining how to apply for an Italy work visa:

1. Determine the Appropriate Visa Type: Choose the correct Italy work visa type based on the purpose and duration of your stay.
2. Gather the Required Documents: Collect all the necessary documents according to the visa requirements and checklists provided.
3. Submit Your Application:
   • For VFS Visa Application Centres: Schedule an appointment and submit your application at the nearest applicable Visa Application Centres.
   • Direct Submission: A few work visas may allow direct submission. You can download the visa form from the embassy website, complete it, and submit it directly to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi by appointment. 4. Attend Your Italy Work Visa Appointment: On the scheduled day, submit your documents and provide your biometrics.

The Italian embassy does not provide visa application status updates over the phone and does not provide information about your application. If you have applied through VFS Global, you can check your Italy work visa status with the help of the following steps:

1. Access the VFS Website: Visit the VFS website at www.vfs-italy.co.in.
2. Track Your Application: Click on the 'Track your application' option.
3. Enter Details: Input your Reference Number, Date of Birth, and the captcha code for security verification.
